Now in Africa

January 22, 2008

Hey everyone! We are finally in Africa.  My brother, sisters, and I would like to thank you for all of your prayers and support! We arrived safely last night and are currently staying in Nairobi.

To all of my friends, I want ya’ll to know how much fun I am already having. Yesterday we took two planes; the first plane we took arrived in Amsterdam (that’s in Holland). The second plane we took arrived in Nairobi, though the flight was tiring and our stomachs were empty, we managed to make it to the hotel (dramatic, I know!).

Today I went to have lunch with some of my parents’ friends. We also went to a shop called, Amani. All of the products at Amani are made by African women who have been war victims or women who have been through tough times.

Though I’m having tons of fun I miss all of you terribly and can’t wait to see you again. You have been a big part of making this a more exciting trip for me. I promise to keep you posted and please add a comment so that I know how all of you are doing! I really, really, really miss you.

Hugs and Kisses,
Georgia Grace

Hey Georgia! What an exciting time for you! I can’t wait to read your updates! We already miss you, especially in English. Kayle and Christa were the only ones in your group today, and although they carried on the conversation just between the two of them, they were wishing you were here (Ashley was gone today, too!). We had the Birthday Party today and played a couple of games (Tyler made up a Scavenger Hunt at the last minute), then we decorated cupcakes and sang “Happy Birthday” to ourselves. :-) Keep blogging! I love it!
    Love,
    Ms. Holly

Hey, Georgia. I am so glad you guys made it safely. I am so glad that you are enjoying your trip. Going with God is always an adventure and never boring. Missed you guys in PE. But, you did not miss too much. We didn’t get to play Bball because the court was too wet, so we stayed at the church and played Telegraph ( the one you played at our house) and some new games I taught everyone. We had fun. Karlee and I will be starting on the guest room next week. It is really going to look really cool. You want even recognize it. I want give you details, I will just make you wait and be surprised for when you come and stay with us again. Take care.
    Love you Lots,
    Mrs. Perego

    Hey Georgia,
How is everything? I can tell you had a fun flight. It must be exciting to get to stop at all of those places in different countries. Have you lost any weight yet? How’s those skirts treating you? I know you were looking forward to wearing them. Have you made any new friends? It is exciting to have friends from other countries and get to learn all about them and their lives. School was pretty quiet Tuesday. Alot of kids were out sick and stuff. Hope everything is going well. Did you get the letters I sent you yet? Tell Olivia and Jackson Hi! for me and mom.
    Miss you lots!
    Love,
    Karlee

    Dear Georgia,
I remember a trip to Israel lots of years ago – your Mom carried you in a “special way” on that trip to Israel. Then I remember you as a tiny infant and a little toddler. You’ve always had a special place in the hearts of Mr. and Mrs. Hoggard. Will you please say a special hello to Olivia, Sophie and Jackson for us? We are praying for you. It sounds like the most wonderful time. You are starting at a young age to influence others for Jesus. I’m so happy about that. I love you, darling girl. We have talked about coming down your way sometime in ‘08. Maybe we can work that out & see all of you once again. Until then, God’s richest blessings to you as you serve Him. Mrs. Hoggard
