My perspective

February 6, 2008

Hello America!

I hope all is well in the US.

You have heard, I am sure, of some division over here in Kenya. Yes, it’s true…but you have only had an adult’s perspective of the situation.

Here is mine:

At times I feel a bit frightened about all that is going on around here. It truly amazes me how people can hate one another. They destroy things, kill others, but what they don’t realize is that they are hurting themselves too! It isn’t safe to go down to the waterfall by yourself anymore, or for that matter to go to Bomet which is the city closest to the hospital. It is CRAZY!

Well, let’s get on a good note, a night ago at two o’clock in the morning we went to another doctor’s house to watch the Super Bowl! Okay…stop and think…Super Bowl…Africa….does that make sense to you? It didn’t to me at first. After the first two quarters I started feeling really sick, so my dad took me back to the house. And today I am still feeling a little sick. Please pray that I would get better! We have been praying for God to touch my health and He is.

I appreciate your perspective of the life (craziness) around you. But God! He is your peace in the midst of storm. Praying for your healing today.

    Hi Georgia,

It is “coincidental” that I came across your Blog. I pray that God will grant you a full and speedy recovery. I had no idea of the great work that you are doing in Kenya. I will add you and your mission group to my prayer list. Thank you for keeping us breast of your plight. My (Your) God will supply your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus!

    My warmest regards,

    Rebecca

May you feel so much better soon, it sounds like you are really having a great adventure. Too bad you missed the end of the game, although neither one was a team I usually cheer for, on this ocassion I was going for the underdog and very happy that they won.

Again I hope you much better by now and may the grace and goodness of the Lord be with you always.

    Dear Georgia,
Wow! I am sure that none of us can even begin to imagine all that you and your family have gotten to see and do. All of you have been in our prayers daily. We are thankful when we hear news from your family. I trust that by the time you get to read this, that you will be feeling a whole lot better. I wish that you had gotten to see the whole Super Bowl game, but with everything that you all are doing over there, I’m sure that something like the Super Bowl seems very unimportant. You, Olivia, Sophie, and Jackson are all missed so much at MCA. All of your smiles and energy being in Africa sure make MCA a little empty. Please be sure to tell them all howdy. ; ) Looking forward to hearing more updates and even more to the day that you all return safely home to Texas.
Too Da Loo! :) (how would you spell it?)
    Your Sister in Christ,
    Ashley

God’s healing virture is flowing through your body and complete healing is yours. Please tell your sisters, brother, mom and dad that we are all praying for you guys and can’t wait until you return. Underwater Quest has never been the same since you left. I count it a blessing to know you and the family. Keep up the great work and we will see you all when you return.
