Dr. Paul,

I do know how it is to say goodbye! i don't know what part of Kenya you were in , but i had the ahrdest time to leave during my tour of duty in Kenya and I so yearn to return. It's been twelve years already and i resided in Kericho up country western Kenya. I was there as a Biology teacher and wanted to someday return on a medical mission. I haven't completed my medical studies and now I am pursuant of a P.A. degree just because i am a single parent with not much time to devote to medical school full-time a care for my family without financial resources. But, I too want to return to Kenya to establish a health care clinic and educate the massess on proper care and nutrition to survive.

Thanks for your story and i look to hear from you soon. i love the ministry that you and your brother are rending to others. Pray all goes well in the name of the Father.

Peace & Blessings,
Darhlene

thanks Doc P , Jenn, Peaches, Liv , Sophie and Jack for reminding me that we are to be about doing the Father's work while here on earth and not our own. Our time here is so temporal and we often lose sight of this by living our busy-hurried lives. Hearing about these amazing Doctors and nurses who have given up living their lives to make a difference in the lives of others has truly been inspiring.

10:22 a.m. Wednesday 27 February 2008

Dr. Paul & Family:

Thanks for representing the rest of us back home with your mission trip to Nairobi.

I have a Dominican Sister friend from my hometown of LaPorte named Mary Brenda who is ministering just outside of Nairobi's slums. She has been in charge of building a medical clinic....

Please pray that I too may join the mission field as my dream is to get to Mother Teresa's hospital sometime this summer....

I am inspired by your commitment to the Lord and wish to follow in your footsteps.

Amen,

Michael G. Mathis, mathis_m_g@yahoo.com
2401 Beechwood Drive
LaPorte, Indiana 46350

PS Unlike your weather in Kenya, we have had about 12 inches of snow in the past 48 hours.... Spring is not far behind...
