Decorating Cookies!
August 15, 2008
This past week all the missionary kids got together at one of the missionary homes to decorate cookies. I think she made hundreds for us to decorate! We had all colors of icing and a lot of different things to decorate with like chocolate chips, pretzels, MnMs, and nuts. Since we can’t run out and buy sprinkles and things, we had to be really creative. We had two categories. The first was decorate your favorite thing to do. I TRIED to draw a drum set but it didn’t turn out so well. The second category was decorate something to do with safari. I made an alligator. We got to keep and eat those two but then we iced about a hundred more cookies. We delivered those to the pediatric ward, we had enough for the kids, their moms and the nurses. I think the moms and nurses were just as excited as the kids to get a cookie! It was a really fun day. ~Soph

Dear Dr. Paul, Ms. Jenn, Georgia, Liv, Sophie, and Jackson–
Thank you for my birthday present. The My Little Pony stickers will look great on my notebook for school (ya’ll are sooooo funny!). I loved the REAL gift (once I found it!). Thank you so much!
Miss ya’ll,
Tyler
Dearest Paul and Jennifer,
On your first trip earlier this year, I placed the moniker “Kenya” on my internet toolbar. It still remains to this day and I believe the spirit led me to click on it two days ago and WHOA! There you are again serving and loving! What a blessing for all involved. Madelon is 14 today! the 19th. I still remember you all coming by to welcome her into the world at the Baptist in Little Rock.
May your physical strength be added too in the coming weeks and your skills for whatever God has planned be ready. I know you have the skill, the Lord simply needs to calm down the mind in those moments of doubt at the OR table. You all are a blessing to us here in Idaho.

Soph, when you get back we need to play some more of the drawing game. The subject will be musical instruments and we will practice drawing a drum set!
Mmm cookies do sound really yummy!
Love you!

Glad to hear things are well, and you all have settled in quite nicely. I knew our Father in Heaven had always had a special place for you to continue to practice what you so enjoy. Jenn, I have called Rachal Ray, as Paul described in the earlier email, she doesnt compare to your cooking, LOL. Georgia, and Sophie continue to help out in every area you can, I know your new friends enjoy you and the spirit you bring. Jack, be cool my brother, you have fun learning and meeting new friends. You guys are awesome. Paul, my situation seems to be working out some, I do thank you for offering to help a couple of months ago. It is still a little tough, but after reading your words in these emails makes my situation very minimal. We miss you guys, but you have a job to do. Talk to you soon.

Hello Sophie, Wow! Cheering up the kids and their moms with cookies sounds like a great way to have fun! And, I’m sure your cookies were delicious, even if the art was a bit abstract. Tell Jackson I loved seeing the photos of him with the children, and that I miss his smiling face! God bless you all. Mary Jane
Hey everyone!
We love hearing all the reports about what you are doing! We miss you and we are praying for you!
Love, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Kevin, Catherine, Caroline, and Christopher
I wondered whether you’re staying in “our” apartment at Tenwek [upstairs in the fourplex on the end nearer the hospital]. We left it set up with our things for use by visiting staff during our prolonged absence. Hope it’s all working out for you. Write if you have any questions about the apartment.
Olivia, sorry we left out your name in the earlier email, that was a mistake. Im sure your keeping everyone on there tows, and keeping everyone smiling. We love ya’ll and love hearing the reports.

I live in alabama and enjoy reading your blogs. But what happened to your blog site? Nothing put up since the 15th. Just wondering.
Paul, I’m extremely proud (in Jesus’ behalf of course) to know that you are continuing to use your medical skills! I wish we had taken our kids on mission trips like this. You are a great example for us. Keep up the great work. Pam and I would like to go with you sometime. John is in opthamology training, and if the Lord tarries, I suspect he would be of great help also. I’m sure you could get Ingrid Mednis and John Letteiri (and others) to go with you. Let us know how we can help you! Dave
Dear Osteen family,
It is so nice to see how things are going there in Africa and all of you are in mine and my daughter Brianna’s prayers. Bless you all!

Dear Jeni, Paul, Georgia, Olivia, Sophia & Jackson,
Sorry its been so long since I have touched base with you. Just want to say hi and let you all know that you are in our prayers .
I also have a big favor to ask. I know you guys are very busy, but if your family have a moment, will you please pray for Kaitlyn Honea and Travis Schwen? Katy is Stan’s great niece. She and Travis were critically injured last Sunday, August 31st, in an ATV accident. Katy has brain injuries and we are already told that Travis will be parlyzed from the chest down. He will be having surgery tomorrow if all goes as expected. Katy is still on a vent and in a coma, but is beginning to show a little improvement. We have seen “many miracles” already and know that God is tending to them. Prayer is about all I know to do .
I know that Aunt Brenda & Aunt Kalah & Bob have seen Raleigh and that she is beautiful and well. I haven’t seen her yet, but hope to soon.
Again, thank God for all the hard work and the difference you make in so many lives. We love you so much and you are forever in our hearts and prayers. deb
