Hi Dr. Paul,
Happy to see that you are interested in outreach programmes to Pokot county. I am a young Otolaryngology (ENT) H&N trainee (completing studies in August 2011) from this county and I have been actively involved in organizing & participating in Ear Surgical outreaches at Kapenguria District hospital in conjunction with Operation Ear Drop (OED)- Kenya & Kenyatta National Hospital where am currently attached. This has been done with immense support from the local leaders. We have managed to do over 40 specialized ear surgery over the past 2 years and hope to do more in future.
I feel really encouraged to see that your team is considering doing some work in Ortum.
Such partnership in improving healthcare is highly appreciated.
Any help/ collaboration in your part as regards ENT H&N is welcome. We will equally support your endeavors where we can.
Thanks.
Dr Menach.

I am elated to have seen my locals in this pic and your journey report is very fascinating. I hope you have seen the many challenges that my community are facing, with concerted efforts and partnership, we could make this region a new caanan which is full of potential to be exploited, welcome again. We are ready to help you in your mission.

I grew up a few miles away from Dr. Zach. His dad was our great leader. I am glad you enjoyed yourself in my rugged country side. God bless you and may your desire to help my people come true. I love your city, Calverton, the aquarium etc.

Peace and Much Grace to you! I was just on the net reading and researching about the Pokot. Though being a Kenyan adult, I had not been to Pokot country until earlier this year when a preacher gave me her slot in an evengelistic mission there. God gave My wife and I a burden for the unreached in 2008 and we had been in prayer for like the whole year when this invitation came. I knew it was time to come out of the closet: "Mr. Rubber, please meet Mr. Road." I will share on our experiences in my next post. For now, I'm so glad that God has touched others (like you) to behold these wonderful people. The time has come for a great light to shine upon the Pokot!

Much grace upon you all!!!

Dr. Paul, how can Lakewood members help take up that burden to help the Pokot people? I will add this to my own prayers, but if you can think of anything we might be able to do as a church, I know we could step up to that challenge!

God bless!
